My five-year-old is the best negotiator I've ever seen. 

Somehow, just this morning, I went from telling him he couldn’t bring a whole sheet of dinosaur stickers to school to allowing him to 1) wear one sticker and 2) bring another for a friend — even though stickers aren’t allowed at school. 

How, I’m thinking, does a 5-year-old negotiate himself into an intricate compromise with a much older and more experienced adult?

I think the answer comprises two parts. 1) He’s a kid, so he is still socially fearless. 2) He has a natural talent for it.

But, what about the rest of us?
